Not Your Grandma’s Loafers

The “penny” loafer has come a long way from it’s start in Norway. What used to be a simple or vintage style shoe is making its way back with an edge. Either embellished or studded, you can dress them up or down, and they are a comfortable yet stylish addition to any outfit!

Fall Trend Alert: Trousers

A prominent trend for this fall season is the “tuxedo pant” or trouser trend. I have seen so many takes on this trend, ranging from casual, to dressy, to street chic. I love the fact that there is another type of pant coming in other than jeans. Here are some ideas for ways to dress your trousers!

Which look is your favorite? And will you be rocking the trouser pants this fall? Comment below.

Beauty and the Briefcase

I recently got a promotion at my job and now that I am one of the managers, I have to start dressing business casual (since it was a student job, we don’t have uniforms or a specific dress code). I was worried that I would no longer be able to bring my flair and style into the outfits, but then I realized…who says you can’t bring fashion into the workplace? :)

It’s okay to add a pop of color to an outfit, all outfits do not have to be bland. And be sure to accessorize!!

Here are some ideas if you are starting a new job this school year, and some ideas that are appropriate yet fashionable for the workplace:

Love This Look: Classic Button Down

One basic essential that every person should have in their closet is….drumroll please…

The button down!

That button down shirt may be the one you’ve had in your closet since the eighties, or the one you bought at the store recently! This is a hot trend right now that can either be dressed up or dressed down. This is such a timeless piece, and you can make it your own. Here are some looks from celebrities that have rocked the button down:

Whether it’s a funky print, fab floral, or classic solid, you can wear one with anything and instantly have a classic look. Here are some great button downs I’ve compiled:

Scents and Sensibility

Over the past few years I’ve really started to figure out which perfumes have been my favorites.  I’ve made a list of which ones I love best, but I haven’t decided which one is my favorite. Here is my list so far:

1. Vera Wang Princess: I have always loved this scent, it’s playful, sweet, and fun. It smells delicious!

2.  Coco Mademoiselle Chanel: This is an elegant, classy scent that makes one feel like they’re drowning in a mist of luxuriousness…Okay, maybe not drowning, but it definitely smells amazing!

3. Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy: My aunt got me this perfume a few years back and I fell in love with it. It is warm, elegant, and makes one feel as great as they look!

4. Refuge by Charlotte Russe: So I recently discovered this while shopping, and it is fresh and flirty. Not only is it just ten dollars, but it is great for those days where you need something quickly! I am so happy I came across this, it smells great.

5. Daisy by Marc Jacobs: This flowery perfume will make you feel spontaneous and lovely. A spritz of this will make you feel like you just got out of playing in a prairie of flowers. With a hint of violet, it is the perfect perfume for a sunny day. Heck, even the bottle’s happy.

6. NYC by Sarah Jessica Parker: Thank you to my cousin Parris for introducing this to me! I love how funky and fruity this perfume smells. It smells so good I could eat it.

What are your favorite perfumes or scents? Are you a fan of any of the ones listed above? Would love it if you let me know!
